Mentors-Mentees Manuscript Writing Workshop

Naivasha Simba Lodge

The Department of Psychiatry, University of Nairobi though the Linked Mental Health Project is holding a 3-day workshop at the Simba Lodge in Naivasha for writing of Manuscrips for publication. The workshop is a meeting of the mentors (supervisors) and the mentees (graduate students who have finished their project work and submitted their theses to the Board of Postgraduate), and is expected to last from 30th October to 1st November. The mentees received seed grants from the project to help in their project work.

Part of the aims of the Linked Mental Health Project is to disseminate knowledge through publications to peer reviewed Journals of the research work it funds. By the end of the workshop, the mentees are expected to have drafted a manuscript of their first paper.

The workshop is facilitated by Dr. Ann Vander Stoep (University of Washington - Seattle), who is a co-investigator in the Linked Mental Health Project and the project's Principal Investigator, Dr. Muthoni Mathai (University of Nairobi). Other Mentors attending are Prof Wangari Kuria and Dr. Anne Obondo.
